Pakistan has the fifth greatest burden of TB. With an estimated 27,000 drug-resistant TB cases each year Pakistan also ranks 6th for drug resistant TB among the 30 high burden countries.
Over 44,000 people die of tuberculosis (TB) in Pakistan every year.
The World Bank has kept Pakistan’s economic growth forecast for the fiscal year 2021-22 unchanged at 3.4%.

Bilquis Bano Edhi is a professional nurse and she heads the Bilquis Edhi Foundation. She has spent more than six decades of her life in serving humanity in need. Her charity has saved over 42,000 unwanted babies so far by placing "jhoolas" [cradles] at the Edhi Homes and centers across the country.
