A. to the 1st condition;
x-20=y
therefore

A. to the 2nd condition;
1/3x=1/2y
therefore
2x=3y

Multiplying (i) by 2;
2x-2y=40---(iii)
Subtracting (ii) from (iii);
2x-2y=40
2x-3y=0

Substituting the value of y in (1)
x-y=20
x-40=20
