He started smoking first and took to alcohol later. He would HANG OUT with his new friends and come home late in the night. His parents condemned him for his being wayward and were concerned about his health and future academic pursuits and career. They became DISILLUSIONED with him for their son who they always took to be a GENUINE PRECIOUS STONE unfortunately turned to be A FLAWED ONE. What a great pity!
