Lord Mountbatten: The last Viceroy of India

Lord Mountbatten passed away on 27 August 1979

In March 1947, Mountbatten was appointed Viceroy of India and oversaw the Partition of British India into India and Pakistan. 

The legislature representatives of the Indian National Congress, the Muslim League, and the Sikh community came to an agreement with Lord Mountbatten through "The Indian Independence Act of 1947"

This plan is known as the 3 June Plan or Mountbatten Plan.
