During the 23 years of Muhammad's time as a prophet, the verses of the Quran were memorized as they were revealed, and about 42 scribes wrote the verses on different materials such as paper, cloth, bone fragments and leather.
The Quran collected between two binders by Abu Bakr was transferred to Umar after he died.
After Umar died, it was transferred to his daughter Hazrat Hifsa
Abdullah Ibn Abbaswas the son of Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib, an uncle of the Islamic prophet Muhammad (PBHU),and a nephew of the Maymunahbint al-Harith, who later became Muhammad's wife. He was one of Muhammad's cousins and one of the early Quran scholars.

The month of Ramadan [is that] in which was revealed the Qur'an, a guidance for the people and clear proofs of guidance and criterion. So whoever sights [the new moon of] the month, let him fast it; and whoever is ill or on a journey - then an equal number of other days. Allah intends for you ease and does not intend for you hardship and [wants] for you to complete the period and to glorify Allah for that [to] which He has guided you; and perhaps you will be grateful. 2:185
