Section 4(2) of the ANF Act, 1997 defines the powers of the Director General (DG) ANF.
It allows the DG ANF to exercise powers similar to an Inspector General (IG) Police.
These powers are exercised under the Code of Criminal Procedure (Cr.P.C) 1898.
This strengthens ANF’s authority in narcotics investigations.
It ensures coordination with general police law enforcement system.
